We are delighted to announce that Phil Hargreaves will be joining us in September as our new Festival Director.
Phil is currently the Interim Lead for Culture & Head of Creative Programmes for Bradford Council where he has been working to develop a new festival programme across the City. Phil said “I’m really looking forward to playing a pivotal role as Festival Director of Freedom Festival Arts Trust. My passion is to celebrate people and places using unique and exciting cultural activities, bringing to life public spaces and shining a new light on new spaces. My creative leadership is about making the space for ideas to flourish and talent to be discovered and encouraged. I’ll be working hard alongside the team and board to ensure Freedom Festival Trust can continue to support, create and deliver ambitious artistic ideas, that are relevant to people of Hull, whilst being locally, nationally and internationally connected. It’s about taking risks and failing well, having fun and bring excellent art to the streets of Hull”
