At Freedom Festival Arts Trust, we believe in fostering a culture of inclusivity, acceptance, and equality. As part of our commitment to creating a diverse and welcoming environment, we constantly strive to review and improve our policies to ensure they align with our values.
During Pride Month, we have listened to team members' thoughts and suggestions to help inform a comprehensive review of all our policies so we can continue to promote inclusivity and respect for all individuals who work with us and engage with our projects. This includes examining our language to ensure it is inclusive and focusing on specific policies such as parental leave policies and reinforcing our anti-bullying and harassment policies.
Additionally, we have now established an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Group. This dedicated team, consisting of board members, senior management, and individuals with lived experiences, will meet twice a year to discuss our policies, recruitment, and work, and gain invaluable insights and thoughts on best practices to continue to be adaptable and fluid. We are dedicated to listening and understanding how to continue to make our environment inclusive and safe for all. Our first official Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion group meeting will take place in July, marking an important step in our journey.
Furthermore, we are actively exploring training opportunities for our team. By providing education and resources, we aim to empower our team to create an even more inclusive and supportive environment.
We are committed to making a positive impact and fostering a workplace where everyone feels respected and valued. Together, we can create a world that celebrates diversity and embraces every individual's unique journey.
