In partnership with J-Night, Freedom Festival Arts Trust was proud to commission a brand new piece about Hull, which was performed in both London and Hull as part of this year’s PRS Foundation’s New Music Biennial.
Commissioning award-winning clarinettist and composer Arun Ghosh to create the brand-new piece of music, the site-specific piece, entitled AMBHAS, was performed in Hull as audiences gathered to look out across the water on the banks of the River Humber.
Inspired by water and journeys to the city from across the sea, the commission gave young wind and percussion players from Hull Music Hub the opportunity to perform alongside professional players.
If you missed the performance you can listen to it here alongside a Q&A about the piece. It begins at 45 mins into the programme.
