KCOM has been announced as a major sponsor for Hull’s biggest annual cultural celebration; Freedom Festival.
The Hull-based broadband provider is returning for the 10th year running as a main backer of the hugely popular five-day festival, which will bring world-class performances, art installations, music and more to Hull, from Wednesday, 28 August, to Sunday 1 September.
Jo Hawkes, Interim CEO, Freedom Festival Arts Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome back KCOM as major sponsor for Freedom Festival 2024.
“KCOM are completely invested in the communities of Hull and understand the value arts and culture bring to the city. Their sponsorship allows us to continue investing in world-class projects, as well as developing local talent. We couldn’t imagine a festival without them and are truly grateful for their continued support.”
Among the highlights of this year’s festival is Australian theatre company Circa, whose ground-breaking show, Eternity, will enchant audiences with jaw dropping acrobatics and awe-inspiring aerial feats in the spectacular setting of Hull Minster throughout the event. A full programme of events will be announced this month.
As part of its sponsorship, KCOM is backing the Freedom Online section of the festival website which will help everyone enjoy the festival all year round and promote digital inclusion. The website features a selection of music, films and podcasts that can be enjoyed from home alongside the live events taking place in Hull city centre.
Tim Shaw, KCOM CEO, said: “KCOM has been at the heart of our local communities for the last 120 years, supporting the major cultural and arts events that really help bring our region to life and make it a great place to be. We’re delighted to be able to partner with Hull’s flagship Freedom Festival once again, especially in our 120th anniversary year, for what looks set to be another amazing five days of fun and celebration.”
