“Very thought provoking and tackled a difficult topic with integrity and honesty.”
Justice in Motion brought the performance CODE to our 2024 festival, featuring physical theatre, bike stunts and parkour, and with the help of Hull City Council's Youth Services and Neighbourhood Nuisance Teams, we were able to reach out to young people at risk of criminal exploitation to get them involved in the piece. Alongside important work teaching them about the dangers of County Lines and exploitation, they were also given the chance to rehearse with Justice in Motion's professional team and perform in the show presented at the festival.
Our Engagement Producer, Katie Atkins, has put together a special Case Study detailing just what went into the development and the impact it's had on the young people involved.
We’re also thrilled that Justice in Motion will be returning to the Orchard Park area in 2025 to offer workshops to students at two local secondary schools, giving thousands more young people the chance to benefit from the project.
Freedom Festival would like to extend their thanks to everyone involved in the project and send their biggest congratulations to the two young people who took part.
